PLA can be 100% naturally-decomposable under certain environmental conditions, but since there is no perfect recycling mechanism for it yet, we recommend you to throw the used tea bag as combustible waste.
Plant-based PLA can be burned at a lower temperature without producing toxic substances.
How to tell if it’s PLA or not
When lit, it is frameless and not comburent. When burning, it does not smell of plastic but slightly sweet like glucose.
